1944 Nevada Service Squadron
Civil Air Patrol ground units in Reno, Carson City, Stewart, Minden and Gardnerville were grouped into the new Nevada Service Squadron which included:
• Douglas County Communications flight
• Stewart Base flight
• Reno Mechanized flight
• Headquarters Section
• Supply Section
• Photographic Section
The new squadron set up and operated all search bases in the field, handled all transportation and supply, radio communications, mess and bivouac arrangements, photo intelligence, ski and mechanized rescue operations. It also coordinated the ground operations in Nevada, necessary on search and rescue missions by the massive areas to be covered.
