Douglas County Composite Squadron (NV-067)
Commander's Welcome
The Douglas County Composite Squadron is a unique squadron from a variety of perspectives. Nestled in the Carson Valley at the base of the Eastern Sierras, it is one of the foremost glider ports in the country.
In addition to squadron glider activities, we operate two airplanes, which are supported by highly trained emergency services aircrews providing Search and Rescue, aerial photography, and Homeland Security assistance to both state, local, and federal agencies.
Cadets meet every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at P 51 CT at the Minden-Tahoe airport. Senior members meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at P 51 CT and again each 3rd Thursday of the month at the Squadron HQs 1144 Airport Rd, Minden-Tahoe Airport at 7 p.m.
The Squadron conducts monthly Search and Rescue exercises, in which senior members and cadets participate. The Squadron also offers glider and airplane flights each month in support of cadet professional development.
We are always looking for volunteers, both adults and cadets to serve our community, state, and nation. You are welcome to drop by and check us out!
