Cadet SMSgt. Justin Bero Earns Private Pilots License

August 31, 2025

Congratulations to Cadet SMSgt. Justin Bero from Douglas County Composite Squadron for earning his Private Pilot License on August 28 in Minden, NV! Cadet Bero also holds a Private Pilot Glider certificate, earned in CAP gliders. Starting his flying journey at age 10 in a Cessna 172, he's flown five different airplane models and three glider types.

Grateful for the glider scholarship from Minden Squadron and the top-notch training in CAP’s Cessna 172 and 182s, cadet Bero is aiming for a professional pilot career, specializing in rotary wing aircraft. As a senior at Douglas High School, he's planning to attend college and flight school next year in a western state.

Big shoutout to his flight instructor and dad, Capt. Eric Bero!
